Welcome to Kingfisher webpage

Our project is Food and Nutrition

Project Question - What do we mean by starving? Are there really people who are starrving?

Our core texts this term are: The Secret Diary of Jane Pinny, Victorian Housemaid

Homework will be set on a Friday.

PE will be on a Monday. Children should come to school in their PE kit on their PE day.Year 3 will have swimming on a Wednesday this term. They should come to school in their PE kit and bring their swimming bag with them.

Forest School

Kingfishers will be going to Forest School weekly and sessions will be on a Thursday. Children should come to school in their Forest School kit on their Forest School day.

Drinks & Snacks

Please ensure that your child brings a drink of water (not fruit drinks or squash) to school each day. This needs to be in a labelled bottle that we can keep in the classroom which can be accessed during the day.

Year 2 children will receive a piece of fruit during morning break.

It is really important that you read with your child at least 5 times a week.

To support your child at home with their reading you could use lots of different questioning techniques. Asking your child to repeat/ summarise what they have read or picking specific events in the book to talk about will help you to understand what they have learnt. You can find lots of example questions to ask your child below.
