School Meals

At St Edward’s CE Primary School we believe that the school meal is one of the most important parts of the day. We know that what children eat plays an important part in their wellbeing and positive relationship with food and healthy eating.

Condover School catering staff provide a range of fresh nutritious meals for pupils at St Edward's. There is always a vegetarian option available. Water is available with every meal. Pupils can choose from a range of desserts. School meals do not have to be booked in advance.

Alternatively, packed lunches may be brought to school. We promote healthy eating and therefore children are not permitted to bring in fizzy drinks or sweets.

Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children receive a free meal as do those who qualify for Free School Meals. If you are unsure whether your child is eligible for Free School Meals please click on the link below, which will take you to Shropshire Council’s website for further information.

Free fruit is provided for children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, as part of the Free Fruit for Schools Scheme.

If your child has a food allergy this should be discussed with Miss Pugh the school administrator, please contact the school office who can pass your details on to the catering manager, or arrange a meeting between you and the catering manager.
